School Trustee Candidate
School Trustee Leadership for York Region

Proudly Rooted in York Region
For Students. For Families. For Our Future.
I believe every student deserves to succeed, feel supported, and have their voice heard.
I came to Canada with my family at age four and grew up in Ontario’s public schools. From elementary school in Toronto to Unionville High School in Markham, my education gave me a deep connection to the York Region community I’m proud to call home.
As a York University graduate in music and arts education, I’ve spent my career focused on youth development. I’m a piano teacher, helping students build confidence, discipline, creativity, and self-expression. Working closely with kids and families has shaped my commitment to supporting students academically and personally.
I also serve as a Director with the Chinese Education and Culture Association of Canada and the Global Youth Leadership Foundation. Through these non-profits, I’ve organized youth music festivals, leadership programs, and cultural events that help students grow, connect, and thrive.
My experience has shown me that students do their best when they feel safe, respected, included, and motivated. Strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community are key to that success.
As your Trustee for the York Region District School Board, I will bring transparency, accountability, and common-sense decision-making to the Board. I’m committed to academic excellence, student well-being, arts and cultural education, stronger family engagement, and inclusive opportunities for every student in York Region.
I’m ready to bring a thoughtful, balanced, community-focused voice to the Board and to dedicate my time and energy to helping the next generation succeed.
